An Internal Grace

Christ and Christmas from an Etymological perspective in Old English is Crīst, from Latin Christus, from Greek Khristos, noun use of an adjective meaning ‘anointed’, from khriein ‘anoint’, translating Hebrew māšīaḥ ‘Messiah’. From a yogic perspective the "anointed" one could refer to shaktipati or "grace", a quality of consciousness arising in oneself. In non-dual traditions, Śaktipāt can be classified as a type of grace of self-illumination - such a person becomes spiritually illuminated on his/her own, relying directly on the divine, not needing initiation or instruction from other exterior sources.
