All Actions Are An Attempt To Meet Needs
Thom Bond, in his book, The Compassion Book, makes the point that all actions are an attempt to meet needs. And he invites us to turn blame or judgement into an exploration of what the person's needs are or our own needs are in any situation. He points out that we can use this way of thinking to explore what we want to experience rather than focusing on what the other person did "wrong". And this will open the door to increasing our chance of making a compassionate request and creating a more connected engagement. Thom Bond is an expert in Non-Violent Communications and runs the Compassion Course. To learn more visit: https://www.nycnvc.org/thom-bond/
